Curiously, Brooke and Caroline find themselves table neighbors right before the eyes of Ridge and Thorne, who were taking advantage of the evening to clear their heads and address all their misunderstandings. When Caroline and Brooke both receive a letter from "Mr. Forrester," asking them to meet, they are both thrilled that Ridge has chosen them; however, it was Thorne who sent them the message, asking them to remain friends no matter what Ridge decides. In the meantime, Ridge, not knowing what to do, decides to ask his father for advice, who suggests him to choose not the person he loves the most, but the one who makes him happiest. In the end, Ridge finds the strength and courage to make a decision. Ridge organizes a romantic candlelight dinner for Caroline, professes his love to her and asks her to become Mrs. Forrester. The woman, who can't believe that her dream of love is finally about to be crowned, accepts touched before giving in to a passionate kiss.
