1988 (#9) - Donna's modeling ambitions and the breakup with Mark

The already complicated story between Mark and Donna, tested by Mark's childish and selfish attitudes, experiences a period of strong tensions when the girl, due to a delay, feels she might be pregnant. The idea of a pregnancy is certainly not among the most recurrent thoughts of the young woman, but the absolutely furious reaction of the boy, who harshly scolds Donna for forgetting to take her birth control pills, perhaps marks a definitive breaking point between the two. And not even Mark's heartfelt apologies, who vents and opens up to the girl admitting to being too often abrupt and nervous because of his difficult childhood and the difficulties in finding a job, seem to be able to heal a rift that has become irremediable. Tired of a relationship that has been dragging on for too long, Donna tries to distract herself and take control of her life by deciding to devote herself to what makes her feel good, and in particular to her dream of becoming a model. The spark, of course, comes from Rocco, who repeatedly urges her to try out for Forrester, with the prospect of being able to try to put in a good word with Ridge. The girl, however, no longer wanting to interfere with the story between Rocco and his sister Katie, decides to try to take a more independent and autonomous path, responding to an advertisement in a newspaper by an agency run by Tommy Bayland. Donna's decision to throw herself into this adventure in the fashion world does not excite Mark at all, and this only increases the already strong tensions between the two. In the meantime, Donna feels more and more fulfilled by this new job, especially when Tommy, commenting on some of the girl's shots, comes to promise and guarantee her success. Rocco warns Donna to move with caution in this world too often frequented by unscrupulous people who promise easy earnings, but Donna, convinced that Rocco's is only a warning aimed at bringing her closer to him and to Forrester, does not listen to him, minimizing the boy's fears and showing her confidence in Tommy's goodness, who has seen and will take care of her talent. Donna's convictions remain firm even when the man invites the girl to pose for some more intense shots and with more provocative clothes, revealing that only in this way she could earn real money. Donna promises Tommy that she will think about it, and in the meantime she continues to ignore both Rocco's advice and, above all, Mark's outbursts of anger and rage. Eventually, Donna finally becomes aware that Mark is not the guy for her, and decides to end their relationship. Ironically, when she returned home to break up with him, Donna found Mark in bed with another woman. Mark immediately tries to explain what happened and justify himself, but Donna won't hear of it and informs him that their relationship is officially over; after which, finally free from this burden and from a love affair that was weighing her down, she returns home, where she is welcomed back by two happy Beth and Storm, relieved that the girl has put an unreliable man like Mark behind her.

1988 (#8) - Caroline's Eye on Fashion direction and betrayal with Ridge

Although Caroline is married to Thorne, and he is now officially engaged to Brooke, Ridge continues to be tied as if by an invisible thread to Caroline, from whom he cannot and does not want to separate himself. And it is precisely for this reason that, at the end of the Forrester fashion show, Ridge proposes to Caroline to come and work in the family business. Proposal that, ironically, a few hours later is also Thorne and formulate him. Finding herself in obvious embarrassment, and not wanting in any way to fuel the nascent diatribe between the two brothers, Caroline for once decides to follow her father Bill's advice and refuse the offer to go instead to devote herself to the family business, publishing. The powerful Bill, however, continues to look up to his daughter and, in order to see her happy, has reserved for her the position of director of his new and promising project, that of the emerging and already very popular fashion magazine Eye on Fashion. This was an assignment that greatly appealed to Caroline, who was eager and highly motivated to take on this new professional adventure, assisted by art director Valerie Cooper, who soon became her confidante and friend. With the release of the first issue of the magazine, which is a huge success, Caroline decides to have some fun for once, organizing a pool party to celebrate the promising start of her project. However, a very tired Caroline who is not used to having a few too many drinks soon retires to her room before the party is over. And taking advantage of the fact that Thorne is busy making himself a sandwich in the kitchen and exchanging a few moments of goliardia with his friends, Ridge, partly as a joke and partly out of madness, ends up following Caroline to her bed. Here, before a naked and highly embarrassed Ridge can announce his presence, he is engulfed by a lusting Caroline, unaware that it is Ridge and not Thorne presumably due to alcohol. Overwhelmed by desire, Ridge soon finds himself responding to his ex-girlfriend's passion, and so the two end up making love. The next day Caroline, talking to Thorne, who amusedly thinks that the woman has dreamed it all, realizes that she has not made love to her husband; and realizing the whole truth, almost remains breathless with dismay. In the grip of remorse and guilt, Caroline decides to confide everything to Stephanie, who immediately blocks her and makes her desist from her intent to reveal everything to Thorne, sure that if she found out the truth she would be capable of any gesture. Caroline and Ridge, meanwhile, both acknowledge the mistake of that night, declaring themselves bitterly regretful. Ridge reassures Caroline by promising her that he would respect her marriage to her brother, but for Caroline this promise comes too late: the woman in fact, unable to forget what happened, soon finds herself unable to make love with Thorne, who, more and more impatient, pushes his wife to let go. A brief respite, for Caroline, arrives only when Thorne is forced to rest for the recovery of a minor appendicitis operation; but the woman is well aware that she will not be able to put off for long the moment when she will have to come to terms with her ghosts. Ridge, on the other hand, decides to forget the incident by focusing on his relationship with Brooke and asking the woman again to move in with him. This time Brooke, determined not to let her Ridge slip away, accepts without a second thought; all under the eyes of an increasingly thoughtful Caroline, who silently observes Brooke and Ridge sharing happy moments together from her bedroom window.

1988 (#7) - Storm and Margot's relationship and night of love with Clark

Hoping to distance his sister from Clarke, who is considered an opportunistic man not to be trusted, Ridge organizes a pool party in honor of Krisren and her success at the fashion show, inviting many of his friends, who share the characteristic of being bachelors. Kristen, halfway between being amused by the idea and fed up with being told for months that the man she has fallen in love with would not be up to their expectations, tells her brother that she is now engaged to the only man who interests her, urging him to get over it and make his peace with it. But even though Ridge's plan may be a failure, it is also true that not everything has gone wrong, since this episode is the beginning of a deep friendship between Storm and Kristen, who appreciates Storm's company and soon becomes a close confidante. In the meantime, Storm himself, having put aside his relationship with Alex, is pushed more and more by his mother Beth to put aside the role of second father to his three sisters and to start thinking about creating his own family. And in this excellent situation, it is Eric, to whom Beth asks for help, who brings Storm together with his secretary Margot, also with the hope that she can finally overcome her feelings for him. Between Storm and Margot, in fact, a great understanding is born immediately, to the point that the two begin to date and become a steady couple. Surprised and excited by this beautiful news is obviously Kristen, very happy for her friend Storm that more than anyone deserves the joy of having a person next door with whom to share everything. And excited to see them together, Kristen immediately organizes a double date with the couple, unaware as well as Storm that already for some time Clarke and Margot are beginning to form a strong bond. At the dinner, as expected, is the awkwardness to reign, with Clarke and Margot who try in every way to hide the obvious feeling that there is between them to unaware Kristen and Storm, who do not notice anything. Margot, after all, seems the prototype of the perfect woman for a man like Clarke: mature, independent and determined, quite the opposite of the younger Kristen, who is only now coming out of her shell and is beginning to deal with the great challenges of life. Finding themselves unable to do without each other, and even more excited at the idea of having to absolutely keep their relationship hidden, Clarke and Margot soon end up spending a passionate night of love; night that however both propose to keep hidden being aware of the fact that their future is certainly not together.

1988 (#6) - Stephanie's plan and the discovery of Stephen

Determined more than ever to defend her marriage, and ready to play all the cards at her disposal, Stephanie is aware that the only way to end Eric and Beth's relationship is to reunite the woman's family. Meanwhile, back at the Logan home, Storm is increasingly convinced that it's time to have his father declared dead and move on for good, despite Katie and Helen in particular being opposed to this. And when an Eric who is increasingly impatient to be with Beth decides to support Storm, considering it inappropriate to wait uselessly for the return of a man who had abandoned them, the first signs of conflict appear between Beth and her mother-in-law Helen, who reminds her daughter-in-law that Stephen's decision was dictated exclusively by his ambiguous behavior that had done nothing but bring to the extreme and exasperation Stephen's sense of inferiority towards the all-powerful Eric and his inadequacy to be next to a woman who had never made him feel truly loved. Stephanie, meanwhile, with the invaluable help of Conway Weston, finally manages to track down Stephen in Tucson, Arizona, and immediately tells Brooke the news. Excited at the idea of seeing and meeting her father again, Brooke decides to leave immediately with Donna for her father, with the intent and hope of convincing him to return home to his family. Happy and almost moved to see his two daughters again, Stephen finally lets himself be convinced by them to return to Los Angeles, also thanks to the prospect of being able to give his marriage to Beth a second chance.

1988 (#5) - Clarke's talent and success at Kristen's fashion show

Kristen is literally speechless when Clarke shows him some of his work. Impressed by the man's talent and talents, Kristen promises Clarke to show his models to her father; and fearing that his dislike of the man might distort his judgment, she passes them off as her own. And in fact, recognizing a truly remarkable style in those sketches, Eric is very impressed with the models and, proud of the fact that his daughter is the author, immediately promises her that he will make the dresses in time for the next fashion show. In the meantime, Eric himself becomes increasingly skeptical about Clarke, not hiding his fear that the man might hurt Kristen; a thought that unites him with Ridge and Stephanie herself, who begins to regret having pushed an opportunistic person like Clarke into her daughter's arms. But despite the skepticism that surrounds her, and the latent thought of being used by Clarke only in order to become the first designer of Forrester, Kristen continues to strenuously defend her man, claiming her choices the decision to stay with him. After all, even after the warning of Ridge, who warns him not to hurt his sister, is the same Clarke to reassure Kristen that his feelings are really genuine. Meanwhile, the long-awaited day of the Forrester Creations fashion show arrives. Kristen, who has let slip to Stephanie the fact that the real author of the dresses is Clarke, struggles to hide her nervousness, especially after the same Stephanie has not failed to warn Clarke not to reveal for no reason in the world nor to the press nor to Eric the truth about who designed the clothes. Nervousness that, backstage, also leaks out in the relationship between the two increasingly distant Eric and Stephanie as well as between Thorne and Caroline, at their first fashion show as married and with Caroline as press agent who does not fail to be teased by Ridge, who does not forget to remind her of her marriage proposal of a year before. Absolutely annoyed by this attitude is of course Thorne, who sides with his father even with regard to Ridge's proposal, with the latter showing his firm belief that selling their models even in a more commercial environment is an excellent marketing strategy and with Thorne who instead considers this move absurd since it would tarnish the image and the Forrester brand. Despite all these tensions, however, at the end of the show turns out to be as expected a great success, with Kristen acclaimed on stage with a radiant Eric and Clarke enjoying his private moment of glory hidden behind a curtain with Margot. Despite the fact that no one, if anyone, still recognizes his talent, Clarke is perfectly aware that it was only a matter of time before: he would soon reach his goal, that of becoming the most famous and sought-after fashion designer in the world.

1988 (#4) - The foiled attack on Ridge and Rocco's job at Forrester

When Ridge, returning from a business meeting with Caroline, is approached by some thugs with the clear intention of robbing him, it is Rocco, who happened to be passing by, who stops the attack. Caroline, greatly frightened, does not fail to thank the boy, who is praised for his courage by a grateful Ridge, who does not fail to offer him help by offering him a job at Forrester. Initially, Rocco refuses, but soon, realizing the great opportunity he has received, thanks also to Donna who urges him not to miss this opportunity, he contacts Ridge to accept his generous offer. In fact, Donna, knowing of the boy's economic difficulties, is happy that Rocco has secured a position as a warehouseman and dispatcher for Forrester Creations; but at the same time, she cannot deny herself a veil of sadness that she will not be spending much more of her time with him at Griffey's. And just as she feared, this new adventure at Forrester ends up drawing the Woman away from the boy, who is increasingly enthusiastic and excited about this new life. And finding himself in great harmony with Kristen, Rocco ends up having a brief flirtation with the girl, which confirms the fact that he does not feel comfortable and mentally attached to his current girlfriend, Katie. The latter, on the other hand, feels more and more neglected and put aside by the boy, who however continues to have in his heart place only for Donna. At work, meanwhile, Ridge confirms himself as one of Rocco's most ardent supporters, and continues to look up to him and his business sense; in fact, it is Rocco's idea, borrowed by Ridge, to increase the turnover of the family business by starting a mass production of cheaper clothes aimed at a wider audience; this idea is firmly rejected by Eric, who has no intention of altering the brand and the quality of their models, which have always been aimed at an exclusive and high-level clientele.

1988 (#3) - Caroline's doubts and the relationship between Brooke and Ridge

Returning with Thorne from her honeymoon, Caroline feels she has made the right decision and married the only man who can ever make her truly happy. However, when her friend Brooke tells her that she's finally ended her relationship with Dave, who had made one last attempt to get back with her, and has started dating Ridge, the news doesn't seem to faze her. On the surface, Caroline seems fine with this development, but inside, it's clear that there's turmoil afoot. And Caroline's doubts manifest themselves in all their magnitude when, finding herself with Thorne and the couple formed by Ridge and Brooke stranded in the snow at the family chalet in Big Bear, the young woman finds herself wondering, observing some tender moments between Brooke and Ridge, if she had really followed her heart by marrying Thorne. Meanwhile, Brooke finds in Katherine a new and surprising ally, since the woman, increasingly worried by the tensions between the two brothers, is very happy to see Ridge away from Thorne's wife. As time goes by, Caroline's torments instead of subsiding become more acute; and disappointed that even her husband knew and kept her in the dark about Ridge's letter, she decides to break off her friendship with Brooke, accused of playing with her life and her feelings. And determined to respond with the same coin, she offers the woman a choice: break off her relationship with Ridge or prepare to face the man's fury, since if she continued to see him Caroline would tell him the truth about the letter that was never delivered. Terrified at the idea of losing Ridge, Brooke has no choice but to accept, but even though she tries to push him away, her heart can't stop staying by his side, especially now that Ridge is beginning to be more and more taken by the woman, whom he affectionately calls "Logan". And when Ridge proposes that she move in with him, Brooke, who would have liked nothing more, has a hard time refusing the proposal.

1988 (#2) - Beth's breast surgery and Eric's support

Upon hearing the news that their mother has breast cancer, Helen, Storm, Donna, and Katie appear shocked and unprepared. All of them, trying to hide their worries and anxieties, try to comfort and give strength to Beth, who seems more than anyone else dejected and above all resigned to her fate. The only one who doesn't give up and tries to convince her mother to react is Brooke, incredulous at her mother's words that she doesn't want to face a risky and probably unnecessarily painful mastectomy operation. Determined to leave no stone unturned, Brooke with the force of desperation decides to turn to Eric, the only person probably capable of making Beth see reason. And in fact, after having digested the news and understood the reason why Beth had sent him away, Eric manages to convince the woman to undergo the operation to remove the tumor, assuring her that he would always be by her side. In the end, despite Beth's fears that she would no longer be a desirable woman in Eric's eyes after the operation, she decides to contact Dr. Fred Bailey to tell him that she wants to accept the operation. This operation, to everyone's relief, was successful as the entire tumor mass was removed. Upon returning from the hospital after a few days of recovery, Beth is greeted by the entire family, happy to find their mother already on the mend. These are happy times for Beth and Eric, who returns to the Logan home and spends more and more time with the woman. Absences, these, that return again to worry Stephanie, suspicious of the fact that Eric has again resumed dating a lover, but unaware of the fact that this is none other than Beth. Actually, Stephanie is well aware that her main rival for Eric's heart is his college sweetheart; however, Stephanie does not immediately connect and associate Eric's old flame named "Liz" with Beth Logan. In fact, it isn't until, admiring Brooke's devotion to her mother, she decides not to visit her herself that Stephanie immediately connects all the pieces of the puzzle: Liz, Eric's teenage sweetheart, with whom he has started seeing again, is none other than Beth! Inevitably, Stephanie decides to ask for a confrontation with her husband, who confirms her suspicions and does nothing to hide the fact that something is going on between him and Beth.

1988 (#1) - The marriage between Thorne and Caroline

Unaware of Ridge's true feelings, Caroline tries hard to put behind her all the events that have turned her life upside down over the past year to focus exclusively on preparations for her wedding to Thorne. After all, everyone, especially Brooke and Bill, are thrilled and excited about the couple's upcoming wedding. The only one who has any doubts seems to be Stephanie, who, despite being happy for her son Thorne, begins to suspect that there is something strange about this whole affair. In particular, Stephanie doesn't seem to trust Brooke; and overhearing her conversation with Bill, she finds out about the stolen letter. Determined to deal with the matter, Stephanie corners Brooke informing her that she knows the truth and intimidating her to hand it over to Caroline. Brooke's repayments and guilt eventually get the better of her heart's desire and, on the morning of the wedding itself, she confesses to Caroline that she has something for her to read. Although deeply moved by Ridge's words, however, Caroline now appears determined to marry the person who was able to give her back her smile. And showing no sign of hatred towards the woman, Caroline confirms her willingness to have Brooke at her side as a bridesmaid; ironically, right by Ridge's side, who agrees to be her brother's best man despite the strong disagreements and resentment between the two even though he will not be attending the reception after the ceremony. And so, under the eyes of the conflicting emotions of Ridge and Brooke, Caroline and Thorne declare eternal love, crowning their dream of love. From Kristen to Bill, passing through Eric, everyone is overjoyed by this new beginning, although no one notices a veil of sadness in Caroline's gaze, determined however to honor and keep faith with her wedding vows to Thorne.

1987 (#21) - Margot's complicated love life and involvement with Bill

After years of sleepless nights, emotional crises, and most of all, disappointments, Margot finally understands that it's time to stop living in hopes of seeing a dream come true that will never come true. Thousands and thousands of times she has imagined and daydreamed that Eric would notice her, understand her full and unconditional love, and realize how they were made for each other. But unfortunately for Margot, the only one who has long understood the situation is Stephanie's authoritarian wife, who has repeatedly urged Eric to fire his personal secretary, accused too many times of behaving like a fool and a businesswoman ready to take away the man of her life. But it wasn't the umpteenth scene of Stephanie that opened Margot's eyes; rather, the strong and bitter disappointment represented by the news that Eric was thinking of divorcing Stephanie, but not for her, but to be with Beth. Realizing that for Eric she will never be anything more than his personal secretary, Margot decides to vent all her anger and bitterness with her friend Bill. Bill first advises her to distract herself with Ridge and then, somewhat surprisingly, invites her to dinner. Between Bill and Margot, after all, the harmony has never been a problem and between the two, undoubtedly, there is a feeling. The spark doesn't take long to burst and, soon, the two find themselves in bed together. Mindful of the fact that Bill tried to take Thorne away from Forrester in order to get closer to Caroline, Margot decides not to inform Eric or any other member of the Forrester family of her relationship with Bill. When Bill offers her a job at Spencer Publications, Margot politely declines the offer, not feeling like quitting Forrester, a company that has given her so much and to which she feels very attached professionally. But despite this, the relationship between Bill and Margot becomes stronger and stronger, so much so that it transforms a simple friendship into a real relationship characterized by a great sexual understanding. However, both agree to let their relationship remain an open one, as they don't want to dive into something serious and challenging.

1987 (#20) - The intercepted letter and the engagement between Thorne and Caroline

As the weeks go by, the understanding between Caroline and Thorne grows more and more. The kind ways of Thorne, a man who is certainly more introverted and affectionate than his brother, impress the girl a lot, who slowly regains, thanks to Thorne, the trust she had lost in men. Discovering Caroline's inner beauty, however, Thorne realizes how naive and foolish his brother has been to let a woman like Caroline get away, convincing himself more and more that Ridge does not deserve her. Obviously delighted that Caroline is dating Thorne, a man much more suited to his daughter than Ridge, is Bill, who even offers the man a prominent position within Spencer Publications; an offer, however, that Thorne, also at Caroline's suggestion and urging, refuses. Bill's attitude certainly doesn't please Stephanie, who repeatedly begs her old friend to stop pitting his two sons against each other, who are now in open competition for Caroline's heart. On one side is Ridge, who sends roses to his beloved, and on the other is Thorne, who confesses to Caroline that he is beginning to have feelings for her. In the end, it is Thorne who gets to prevail over his brother, thanks to the fact that he is able to provide more security to a still fragile Caroline. And Ridge, seeing them kissing, decides to say goodbye to his beloved, writing her a farewell letter in which he writes that he is happy for her and for Thorne, declaring himself ready to move on with his life. Ridge starts dating a very happy Brooke, but it is clear that he still has feelings for his ex-girlfriend. And when in a moment of weakness he decides to retrace his steps and confess all his love to Caroline, Ridge is convinced of the need to write a second letter to Caroline. What Ridge doesn't know, however, is that Brooke, in agreement with Thorne, intercepts the letter; both convinced that it would have marked the end of their respective relationships, in fact, Thorne and Brooke enter into some sort of alliance or agreement to keep Caroline and Ridge apart, well aware that it would take very little to tear their respective relationships apart. A few days later, Thorne asks Caroline to marry him, and Caroline, unaware of Ridge's letter, accepts the proposal; this news throws Ridge into despair and makes Brooke and Thorne excited.

1987 (#19) - Feelings for Ridge and the breakup between Brooke and Dave

When Dave realizes that something is wrong with his relationship with Brooke and that their relationship is no longer as solid as before, it is evidently already too late. The woman, having found herself fantasizing about Ridge more and more often to the point of realizing that she has fallen in love with the man, begins to find Dave increasingly irritating and annoying, a symptom that the complicity of the past is now gone. Unable to understand the situation, Dave decides to confront Brooke in order to change their relationship and, surprisingly, asks her to marry him. Surprised by this unexpected request, Brooke is unable to speak at the moment, leaving Dave to understand that she needs time. Realizing that she needs to clear her heart before she does with Dave, Brooke soon realizes, looking at a picture of Ridge in a glossy magazine, that the life she has always dreamed of with Dave and his salary is not the one she envisions. Dave, meanwhile, frustrated and disappointed that Brooke is hesitant to accept his marriage proposal, realizes that she no longer loves him and that she actually loves Ridge; the two, thus, decide to take some time off. Brooke, suddenly feeling lighter and free from a relationship that had been weighing her down, can now finally focus on what she really wants and desires, Ridge's heart. And realizing that she too has fallen in love with a Forrester, just like her mother, she promises herself that she will not end up like Beth and that she will not miss her chance to finally be happy.

1987 (#18) - Clarke's ambitions, interest in Stephanie and relationship with Kristen

Ever since Stephanie first contacted him with the aim of seducing her daughter Kristen, Clarke Garrison immediately sensed that this would be the opportunity of a lifetime. An accomplished gigolo and resourceful man, Clarke has had a dream since childhood of becoming a famous fashion designer. The possibility, one day, to become a stylist Forrester and work alongside and Eric and Ridge, therefore, lead Clarke to immediately accept the offer of Stephanie to try to establish a relationship with Kristen. The girl, however, does not show much interest in Clarke; and when the man fears that Stephanie, increasingly convinced of his thesis that Kristen is frigid, may dump him and say him goodbye, Clarke moves on to his plan: seduce Stephanie! After all, Clarke, also for professional inclination, has always been much more interested in mature and classy women than in spoiled little girls; and Stephanie, a woman of undoubted charm and elegance, is a perfect prototype for his tastes. Soon, thanks to his charm, Clarke succeeds in piquing the interest of the woman, who is going through a very difficult period in her marriage, actually separated at home with Eric; and Clarke represents the perfect distraction able to make her feel desired again. Between the two, however, there is never anything more than a few simple kisses, and the sudden return of interest of Kristen, who apologizes to Clarke for dismissing him too quickly asking him to make up for it by giving him a second chance, immediately interrupts this brief parenthesis of disbandment of Stephanie, who then asks Clarke to retrace his steps and continue his involvement with Kristen. And this time, in fact, things between the two seem to go even better than expected, since Kristen, who begins to have sincere feelings for the man, finally seems to feel at ease managing also, for the happiness of Stephanie, to let go and find intimacy with Clarke. Clarke, on the other hand, is happier and more excited than ever at the idea that Kristen, soon, will submit some of his work to the supervision of Eric, with the hope that the father can find talent in the drawings of her new boyfriend.

1987 (#17) - Bill's meddling and Margot's attempts to seduce Ridge

Concerned by Caroline's second thoughts and determined to make sure that his daughter doesn't repeat her mistakes by getting back with Ridge, Bill decides to exploit his confidence with Margot to convince her to seduce his former flame Ridge in order to get him away from Caroline for good. However, every attempt by the woman, who has now put aside her feelings for Eric, seem in vain; indeed, they only bring Caroline closer to Ridge, who even manages to snatch a kiss from her. And even an invitation from Ridge to accompany him to Switzerland for a series of business meetings, which leads both Bill and Margot to believe that they are on the verge of achieving their goals, turns out to be nothing more than a simple attempt by Ridge to make it clear that there can never be anything between them and to find out if this sudden interest of the woman's was genuine or was instead engineered by someone else to keep him away from Caroline. Realizing the failure of this move, and fearing that Ridge might suspect and discover his role in this attempt at seduction by Margot, Bill has no choice but to abort this plan of his, but swears to himself that he would never, ever allow Ridge to take his daughter away from him.

1987 (#16) - Mark's financial problems and Donna's job at Griffey's

When Donna decides to make the painful decision to break away from her family to live with Mark, she is hopeful and convinced that the boy is ready to settle down and work hard to maintain their cohabitation. However, even this extreme injection of trust by Donna is betrayed and not even minimally repaid. Even at this juncture, in fact, Mark continues to show himself for what he is, that is, a real bum and a no-good. But in order not to give in to Storm and his mother, and to keep alive the expensive dream of independence, a proud Donna decides to go out of her way to pay Mark's rent, who has recently lost his job and is increasingly pressured by his grumpy landlord Harold Benson to pay his back payments. After stooping so low as to go so far as to steal from Storm and her mother Beth's savings, a repentant Donna sets out desperately to find a waitressing job. Unexpectedly, it is Rocco who helps Donna, promising the girl to put in a good word to her employer, Richard Griffey, to hire her. Rocco's attempt is successful, and so Donna soon finds herself working as a waitress at Griffey's, one of the most fashionable places for young people of the moment, in close contact with her sister's charming boyfriend. Rocco, obviously overjoyed by this news, soon manages to find a greater feeling with the girl, who thanks to Rocco and Katie re-establishes a relationship with the family, often going to dinner at their place. And so, when Mark, instead of showing gratitude to Donna, shows his jealousy of the fact that he works closely with Rocco, Donna begins to realize that her relationship is deteriorating to the point of having taken a road to no return; and at the same time, without being able to admit it to herself, she begins to have feelings for Rocco. When the guy manages to snatch a kiss from Donna at the end of a hard shift, she doesn't think the least about being watched by a distraught Katie. More than with Rocco, it is with Donna that Katie is particularly disappointed and bitter; however, seeing a real sense of guilt and repentance in her sister's eyes, Katie decides to forgive Donna and move on from this episode. This is all under the reassurance of Donna who, worried that she might destroy her sister's self-esteem, reiterates that it was just a simple episode that won't happen again.

1987 (#15) - The discovery of Beth's nodules and the painful detachment from Eric

Despite Eric and Beth's stated commitment to break off their liaison born at the moment they found each other after so many years of separation, often the will of the heart is impossible to contain. And so, just a few weeks after their mutual pledge not to see each other again, Eric and Beth are forced to face reality and admit that they are unable to stay away from each other. Stephanie's suspicions and fears about Eric's possible new love involvement with some other woman become more and more concrete due to his continued and increasingly frequent absences. Determined to get information, Stephanie decides to start following Eric until she finds his car parked in front of a house that she doesn't know is the Logan's house. Eric's justifications about his alleged meetings with Caroline, who actually lives there, are of little use in understanding his real feelings towards their son Ridge; these excuses, in fact, only make Stephanie more aware of how her marriage is not as strong and long-lasting as she thought. When Stephanie learns that a certain "Liz" lives there and works in the same catering business that the Forrester family usually uses for their parties, Stephanie, unaware that the identity of "Liz" is none other than that of her old rival Beth, comes to the conclusion that she must come to terms with reality and admit that her marriage is at a point of no return. But just as she is about to discuss the matter with Eric, he surprisingly takes the floor and apologizes to Stephanie for being absent and distant in recent times, blaming himself for neglecting her and promising that from now on he won't have to worry since there is no longer any threat to their marriage. These words amaze Stephanie in the same way they shocked Eric just before, when Beth abruptly sent him away. What they both don't know is that Beth's sudden decision is motivated by her discovery of some lumps in her breasts that seriously jeopardize her health conditions and that Beth didn't want to talk about with Eric in order not to burden him. And while she goes to see Dr. Doug Russell to perform the biopsy, Beth curses once again that cruel fate that once again has distanced her from her one true love of her life.

1987 (#14) - Caroline's new life, Storm's support and Thorne's company

Ridge's decisive testimony, as it is easy to guess, has not left Caroline indifferent, who clearly shows that she still has feelings for the man. The woman, however, also pushed by Bill, is determined to forget him and start a new life without him. And in this very turbulent period for the woman, it is Brooke, with whom she shares the bedroom, who gives her comfort and listens to Caroline's continuous doubts, undecided about whether or not to be tempted to go back with Ridge. But the more Caroline talks about the man, the more Brooke begins to fantasize about him, without letting her friend know, and although Brooke has been engaged to her Dave for some time now, it's clear that something in her head has clicked; and proof of this is the fact that, some time later, when Brooke learns that Storm's relationship with Alex Simpson has already been interrupted after just a few dates, she urges her brother to make a move on Caroline, perhaps even unconsciously trying to get Ridge out of Caroline's mind. Caroline, on the other hand, seems more determined than ever to follow her reason and put aside her heart at least for once, deciding not to reveal to Ridge the fact that she is currently living with the Logans. But this, of course, is not enough to create the spark between Caroline and Storm, whom she sees only as a great friend and a person to trust. On the other hand, Caroline begins to appreciate Thorne's company, who is showing himself to be very close to her in this period. The emotional shock of the rape, in fact, causes Caroline a series of nightmares that trigger a strong state of anxiety and stress, leading her to associate the trauma of the violence suffered by Ron with the shock of Ridge's betrayal. And it is only thanks to Thorne's support and backing that Caroline seems to be able to find her smile again.

1987 (#13) - The quarrels of Donna and Mark, the role of Storm, the flirtation with Alex

If on the one hand the insecure and fragile Katie sees in her sister Donna a model to imitate, and often to envy, given her apparently solid and happy love situation, the reality is actually very different. In fact, while Katie begins to enjoy Rocco's company and to fall in love with him, unaware that he feels a strong attraction towards Donna, the latter is increasingly struggling with the problems arising from her relationship with Mark. After a carefree, romantic and exciting first phase, the relationship between Donna and Mark has reached a stalemate, which creates tensions and continuous arguments. On the one hand Mark, who would like Donna to move in with her to start a life together, on the other hand there is a much more realistic Donna, who does not see how she could take this step without economic stability or an income, since Mark has no job. Of the same opinion as Donna is her older brother Storm, who doesn't like the boy and thinks with increasing conviction that he is just a slacker. Donna has often defended her boyfriend in front of Storm, but with the passing of the months she's beginning to change her mind, given Mark's aversion and unmotivated antipathy towards his family. Several times, in fact, Mark has deserted the family reunions and convinced Donna to do the same, provoking the irritation of Storm, who has always been very attached to this kind of thing. But the episode that literally infuriates the man is the one related to the theft in the house of grandmother Helen, robbed in her own home after opening the door to a couple of thugs who she thought were Donna and Mark. Helen, in fact, was waiting for the same granddaughter, but she never arrived because of an unexpected and suspicious engagement of Mark. A disappointed Storm accuses Donna of endangering her grandmother's safety, who after this scare gladly accepts the proposal to move in with the Logans; and Donna, in response, announces to the family that she has made the decision to move in with Mark, happy for the success of her plan to get Donna away from her family. For Beth, Katie, and Storm himself, it's a huge blow: it's the first time a member of their family has left their home since their father left. This situation is particularly hard on Storm, who since Stephen's departure has always carried the weight of the family and the difficult role of head of the family, always very protective of his women, a role that Donna clearly can no longer bear. And with her, Storm's new girlfriend, model Alex Simpson, begins to show signs of exasperation. She feels more and more neglected and sidelined by the man, who appears to be focused exclusively on the family business from which she is often excluded. And at the end of a tough but sincere and frank confrontation between the two, it is Alex who puts an end to their brief relationship.

1987 (#12) - Caroline's rape, Ron's trial and conviction

Caroline's efforts and attempts to regain control of her life and trust in men are shattered and swept away one seemingly quiet autumn evening. While dining at a restaurant near her apartment, Caroline is approached by a man named Ron Deacon, with whom she shares the evening. Ron convinces Caroline to go home with him and then, in front of the door, Ron makes his way into the apartment raping the girl. Distraught, Caroline doesn't even seem to have the strength to ask for help, but in the end she decides to call her friend Brooke, who immediately rushes to Caroline and convinces her to move in with her, where she can feel safe. Brooke, together with her boyfriend Dave Reed who is a policeman, convince Caroline to report the incident, promising that, at least for the moment, they will avoid informing Bill and Ridge about what happened. After all, Brooke understands Caroline's state of mind, having been the victim a few months earlier of a rape attempt by some thugs who managed to get away with it. Fortunately this time, thanks to the many reports and testimonies gathered in the bar where Caroline and Ron had spent the evening, Dave, with the complicity of Storm and Detective Roy Banks, soon manages to track down the man, who is immediately arrested. When Bill learns about what happened to his daughter, he immediately runs to Caroline, promising that he will do everything in his power to obtain justice and make Ron pay for his sins. To that end, Bill contacts one of the best attorneys in Los Angeles, Jeff Talon, to make sure Ron never gets out of prison again. The outcome of the trial, however, seems far from certain. Ron Deacon, who, with the exception of a few minor priors, has a fairly clean record, hires a defense attorney, Robin West, who is convinced that he can argue the lack of evidence in their favor, as well as a series of heartfelt testimonies such as that of Florence Deacon, the defendant's mother, who swears to the goodness of her dear Ron. But it is on whether Caroline was consenting or not to the relationship that the main game is played. And from this point of view, in the end, it is the painful testimony of Ridge, who admits that he did not have sexual relations with Caroline because she had the conviction and the will to remain a virgin until marriage, that tips the scales towards Ron's conviction. And in the end, when Judge Madeline Collins declares Ron guilty, everyone breathes a sigh of relief and is happy that justice has been done.

1987 (#11) - The past between Eric and Beth and their new dating

Noticing his mother's bright-eyed return from the party at the Forrester mansion, Storm asks Beth for an explanation. Beth admits to having met someone special after so many years. The meeting between Eric and Beth, on the other hand, is not destined to remain an isolated case; the two, eager to embrace each other again, soon meet again with the excuse of clarifying their past after so many years. Here, in fact, an excited Eric finally confesses to Beth the reason why he had left her so long ago at university: Stephanie, a woman with whom he had spent a night of love after getting drunk and who would become his wife a few months later, had confessed to him that she was expecting a child from him, Ridge. Beth, shocked by the news, can't believe Eric's words, revealing in turn that she married Stephen to fill the void caused by her breakup with Eric, who admits in turn that he probably never would have married Stephanie if Beth hadn't married Stephen first. But despite these events, it's clear both Eric and Beth never stopped loving each other; love sealed with a romantic kiss. Stephanie, whose relationship with Eric appears to be deteriorating more and more, does not fail to notice her husband's increasing disaffection towards her; and, imagining that her husband has started dating some other woman, she promises herself that she will not allow anyone to take her husband away, as she intends to defend her marriage tooth and nail. Similarly, it is Storm who notices the increasingly obvious resurgence of feelings between Eric and his mother, to whom he tries to make it clear that Eric is a married man. Helen, who knows well Beth's past with Eric, explains to Storm the bond that bound Beth to the man; a bond that made Stephen suffer so much that he probably decided to leave because he was no longer able to bear the burden of being considered a second choice and to remain tied to a person who loves another man; a man Stephen himself feels unable to compete with. Soon, however, more and more torn by the fact of pursuing the heart of a married man, Beth takes the painful decision to stop dating Eric, who in turn agrees with the decision and decided, in the grip of guilt, to stop hurting his family and give a second chance to his marriage with Stephanie.

1987 (#10) - The friendship with Brooke and Caroline's second thoughts

At the hospital, Caroline is struggling more with her own torments of the soul than with her physical condition. Under the watchful eye of Dr. Charles Barnes, who reassures her that her fainting spell was only caused by the emotional stress she was under, Caroline soon befriends the young intern Brooke, who is impressed and touched by Caroline's story. Once discharged from the hospital, a regenerated Caroline is ready to take over her life and turn the page forever. Disillusioned and disenchanted not only with Ridge but also with her father Bill, by whom she feels oppressed, Caroline decides to become an independent woman and, wanting to disconnect from everything and everyone, to move into an apartment to live alone. Bill, while not understanding his daughter's choice, does not oppose the decision even though he never really manages to stop controlling her and stop his excessive protection. Kristen, who has always been Caroline's confidante and is very bitter about the way things went, does not fail to make her friend feel her closeness by visiting her from time to time and keeping her company. And it is precisely by exploiting the fact that her sister knows the address where Caroline lives that a repentant but never giving up Ridge manages to find Caroline. Desperate for an explanation, Ridge confesses to Caroline that he loves her and desires a second chance, despite the fact that a distraught Caroline asks the man some time to process everything; it is clear that Caroline is more confused than ever, torn between her heart, which urges her to let go into Ridge's arms and return with him, and her mind, which prevents her from forgetting all the pain he has caused her and which leads her not to trust him. However, Caroline is not the only one who has been trapped by Ridge's charm; in fact, Brooke, who has had the opportunity to see for the first time the man who has turned her friend Caroline's life upside down, remains fascinated and speechless before Ridge's beauty and soul. This scene is repeated on the occasion of their first real meeting, when Brooke replaces Beth, who doesn't want to be noticed during the catering service at the Forrester villa for Eric's birthday.

1987 (#9) - Katie's insecurity, the story with Rocco and the attraction for Donna

While everyone seems concerned and busy with much more important matters, Katie Logan, the youngest of the Logan sisters, is barely more than a teenager; and for her, the most terrible and tragic thing that can happen to a person is to find herself dealing with acne. Concerned by the girl's introverted soul and shy character, Storm soon realizes that Katie is living a very delicate period of her life, the one in which she is about to become a woman. Eager to help her sweep away the insecurity that distinguishes her, he urges his older sister, Donna, to let her go out, have fun and enjoy herself. As awkward as she is, Donna soon realizes that Katie's real problem is the lack of a boyfriend next to her, and so she encourages her schoolmate Rocco Carner to date her sister, convinced that something might happen between them. When Rocco and Katie actually begin dating, however, Donna can't imagine that Rocco, who is secretly attracted to her, has only accepted because he hopes, in some way, to be able to impress her. And so, while an unsuspecting Katie begins to regain her smile and self-confidence thanks to this first real love story, Rocco never stops fantasizing about Donna, with whom he soon falls in love. Soon, when Donna begins to feel that Rocco seems to be able to have an attraction for her, it is already too late and he decides to work up the courage to declare himself to the girl. Donna, however, while appreciating the boy and finding him very sweet and kind, immediately makes it clear that there can never be anything between them, both because she is already engaged to a boy named Mark Mallory, and because she could never hurt her sister, who is now completely crazy about him, in this way. But even though Donna urges Rocco to concentrate on Katie and make her happy, he can't stop thinking about her.

1987 (#8) - The conflict between Stephanie and Kristen, the attempt with Clarke

Returned on the occasion of the marriage gone up in smoke between Ridge and Caroline, as we know Kristen decides not to leave for New York to resume her life in Los Angeles. At the base of this decision is not only the recent breakup with Chuck Timberlake, what was for a short time her boyfriend, but also and above all the desire to please and see happy her father Eric, who for years hoped for a return of his daughter. What Kristen, does not know, however, is that it was actually Stephanie to press her husband to convince her to stay, since she feels that the time has come to address and resolve the misunderstandings for too long unresolved in their relationship. Between Kristen and Stephanie, after all, there has never been great harmony, and Kristen's decision to leave for New York was precisely caused by this situation. Always jealous of her special relationship between Eric and her daughter, Katherine has never hidden a kind of dislike towards her daughter, who in turn has always pushed away any attempt at reconciliation by her mother. This time, however, things seem to be different, and both agree to try to put aside the hatchet. Despite this, Katherine doesn't seem to have changed at all in her attitudes so hated by Kristen, such as always wanting to be in control of the situation and manipulating those around her. And the denial doesn't happen even now, since Stephanie immediately begins to worry about finding a boyfriend for her daughter, which perhaps would lead her to detach herself a bit from Eric and, at the same time, help her to overcome what Stephanie believes is a problem of her daughter, frigidity. In fact, the excessive attachment to her father has caused, over the years, a kind of psychological block in Kristen, who can not be comfortable and find intimacy with men. To confirm her thesis, and solve the problem, Stephanie decides to contact a professional gigolo who can seduce her daughter: Clarke Garrison.

1987 (#7) - Bill's revelations and the cancellation of the wedding with Ridge

Bill, radiant and satisfied with the overwhelming and unequivocal evidence in his possession, decides not to break Caroline's heart and not to show her the incriminating photos, leaving Ridge to cancel the wedding. Ridge, however, while shocked at the photos that show him with Alex, refuses to ruin everything, begging Bill, on the advice of Thorne, to bury the hatchet; request obviously rejected. Seeing Ridge very nervous and tense, Eric and Stephanie show themselves to be very worried; and fearing that Ridge is not yet ready and mature for such a step, they explain that it is normal to find oneself anxious at times like these, inviting him instead to reflect on what he is doing and to understand if it is what he really wants. Ridge, unusually taciturn, says he is now sure of his relationship with Caroline and makes his family happy when he announces that Kristen will be his maid of honor. The long-awaited day of the wedding finally arrives, and preparations are in full swing in the Forrester household. The most nervous of all, however, is Bill, who is determined to take matters into his own hands and, even if for the best, to give his daughter the biggest disappointment of his life. At the sight of the photos of Ridge in Alex's company, Caroline feels like crying, but despite everything and despite Bill's protests, she convinces herself that she still wants to forgive Ridge and go ahead with the ceremony. Despite these intentions, however, grief, stress and shock take over her fortitude; and upon arriving at the church, a distraught Caroline, to the amazement of everyone and the Reverend Michael Daniels, faints in front of everyone as she walks down the aisle to the altar. Immediately taken to the hospital by Bill and a guilt-ridden Ridge, as soon as she regains her senses, a devastated Caroline decides to put an end to this farce and cancel her wedding to Ridge, despite her attempts to explain what happened and her heartfelt plea for forgiveness.

1987 (#6) - The Logan family and Stephen's abandonment

Down in the valley, far from the spotlights and glitter of Beverly Hills, she lives with her four children, and the humility that has always distinguished her, Beth Henderson. More than seven years have passed since her husband, Stephen Logan, abandoned her, forcing a painful separation and a life of sacrifice to make ends meet by working hard in the catering agency where she works. Luckily for her, helping her to carry on the family are her eldest son Storm Logan, who has been taking on the responsibilities of head of the family for years now, becoming very protective of his mother and his three sisters, and Brooke, who divides her time between studying chemistry, housework and a few jobs with Beth in the catering agency. They are joined by their two younger sisters, Donna and Katie, who are still in their teens, as well as their paternal grandmother Helen Logan, Stephen's mother, who, after Stephen's departure, lived with her daughter-in-law and grandchildren. Storm, a law student and aspiring lawyer, is the one who has suffered most from the abandonment of his father, towards whom he has a deep hatred, while the three sisters, in their hearts, hope that one day he may return. In this regard, Storm is the one who pushes Beth more than anyone else to decide to apply to declare Stephen dead and to get rid of him forever, although the woman preaches patience, especially aware of the pain that such an action would bring to the elderly Helen and Katie in particular, the youngest of her daughters.

1987 (#5) - The crisis of Eric and Stephanie, the flirt with Margot, the meet up with Beth

The upcoming wedding between Ridge and Caroline is also an opportunity, after a long time, to reunite the Forrester family. Eric, in particular, is overjoyed to be able to re-embrace his daughter Kristen, who has returned from college especially for the unmissable and happy event. The situation that Kristen finds upon her return, however, is quite different from what she would have expected, since in recent times her parents, Eric and Stephanie, are going through a very difficult period in their marriage. After twenty-five years of indissoluble union, in fact, some misunderstandings begin to surface between the couple; misunderstandings born in particular with the hiring of the beautiful and charming Margot Linley as Eric's personal secretary. After a brief flirtation with Ridge, considered too immature and immature by the woman, Margot's attentions have now shifted for some time towards Eric, which has caused numerous tensions with Stephanie, to the point of making her take the difficult decision not to be present at the first fashion show of the season in which there would have been moreover the debut of Ridge; decision, this, very suffered by the woman but also well thought out and a symptom of a great fracture marriage in progress. And Eric's attitude, which has always minimized the problem despite Margot doing nothing to hide her attraction to the man, has only made the situation worse. When Margot finally decides to come out of the closet and profess her feelings, she is very disappointed by Eric's reluctance to indulge her fantasies; nevertheless, Eric himself refuses to comply with Stephanie's continuous requests to fire the woman, recognizing her professional value and her undoubted work skills. But it is certainly not Margot who represents the main threat to Eric and Stephanie's marriage, but Eric's old youthful love, Beth Henderson. To reawaken these dormant feelings, destiny takes care of it: at the party organized by Eric himself to celebrate Kristen's decision to stay in town, the trusted Ruth Wilson didn't show up, but instead, the catering agency sent Beth Logan to serve her. And one look at Beth and Eric is enough to go back a lifetime.

1987 (#4) - Bill's opposition and Ridge's betrayal of Alex

Since their first meeting on a plane back to Los Angeles, Caroline and Ridge knew they were destined to be with each other. On the one hand, Ridge, the young playboy destined for a career in the spotlight, and on the other, Caroline, a girl of sound principles and moral values, capable of melting anyone's heart with her genuineness and grace; very different, but both with a bright future ahead of them, they soon find themselves more in love than ever. However, Caroline's father, Bill, is not at all touched by this love story and has always been against this union, considering Ridge as a womanizer ready to take advantage of his girl. And when Ridge, at the end of the Forrester fashion show, asks for Caroline's hand in marriage in front of a delighted press, he goes into a rage. After all, Bill has a point since Ridge, even though he has sincere feelings for the girl, decides to take this step knowing that taking her to the altar would be the only way, then, to get her into bed, since Caroline is firmly convinced to keep her virginity until marriage. Convinced that Ridge would do nothing but make his daughter suffer, and fed up with trying to reason with Caroline, Bill has no choice but to go about his methods. With the help of Margot Linley, Eric's personal secretary, Bill contacts private investigator Conway Weston to tail Ridge and keep him under control. And just when Bill seems to regret having hired Conway, almost convinced by Caroline who, with her heart in her hand, asks him for his approval, here is finally the proof that would have framed Ridge and would have put him with his back to the wall: the proof of his betrayals. Ridge in fact, now resigned to the idea of putting his head in the right place, decides to indulge in one last crush with a spicy bachelor party with the provocative model Alex Simpson, with whom he spends a night of passion. A mistake that will cost him dearly.

1987 (#3) - Ridge's debut as a stylist and the romantic story with Caroline

Ridge's dream is finally coming true. At Forrester Creations, preparations for the first fashion show of the season are in full swing, and for Ridge, the day he's been waiting for, the one he's been preparing for, for years, has finally arrived. For the first time, Ridge will be able to participate in the show as a designer, debuting his first, personal collection. It is also a day of great pride for the patriarch of the Eric family, who sees in Ridge his natural heir to the empire he has created. More on the sidelines, however, is Thorne, who has never had his brother's talent for designing clothes and who prefers to deal more with the organizational aspects of the show, such as the preparation of the sets and outfits. Ridge is a little disappointed when Eric, who prefers a fashion linked to classic and traditional values, decides to remove some of his clothes from the show's program as they are considered too provocative and excessively dirty; but to encourage the young Ridge there is Caroline, with whom he began a romantic love story a few months ago and who does not fail on this occasion to show her pride in him. As was to be expected, the fashion show was greatly appreciated and proved to be a magnificent launching pad towards success for the future talent of Forrester Creations. And to crown an unforgettable day for Ridge, arrives absolutely unexpected the marriage proposal to an excited Caroline, who, excited and incredulous to live a daydream, happily accepts to become the new Mrs. Forrester.

1987 (#2) - The Spencer Family and Spencer Publications

Bill Spencer is a man accustomed to always getting what he wants. At the head of the empire he created, Spencer Publications, Bill is a publisher who loves power and success. A great friend of Stephanie's since childhood, with whom he had a brief flirt in his teens, Bill participated in the birth of Forrester Creations by financing the project and keeping for himself a very important share of its stock; moreover, thanks to his numerous fashion and costume magazines that he publishes, he has contributed to its success despite his historical antipathy towards Eric. Greedy to the bone, and always focused on his work and business, Bill does not fail, however, to be there for his beautiful and charming daughter Caroline, a genuine and principled girl.
